      National Pet Dental Month

"You may have spent more time than usual with your pets during this pandemic. If that's the case, you may have noticed their bad breath! February is National Pet Dental Month, so it's a great time to remind everyone of the importance of dental health and hygiene and how it plays into the overall wellbeing of our companion animals.

According to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), 80% of dogs and 70% of cats have some form of periodontal disease by the age of 3. If left untreated, this condition can lead to loose teeth, discoloration, severe tartar accumulation, discomfort, infection, and more.

We recommend a minimum of one annual oral exam by a veterinarian, who will guide you through the dental cleaning options for your pet. Regular brushing at home is the best way to prevent periodontal disease, so let's discuss with our veterinarians and learn about other additional options to help fight dental disease and bad breath!"
